Game Pass Essential vs Premium vs PC vs Ultimate
Ultimate is the tier most people pick: full library, day-one releases on launch day, cloud gaming, EA Play and both console and PC. PC Game Pass is the cheaper PC-only route that still gets day-one releases and EA Play. Premium adds a larger library and select day-one games; Essential is the entry tier with online multiplayer but no day-one games. One change to note: new Call of Duty games are no longer on Game Pass at launch. Whichever plan you choose, every game below is included at no extra cost.

What is the difference between Game Pass Essential, Premium, PC and Ultimate?
Essential is the entry console + PC + cloud tier with online multiplayer and a smaller library, but no day-one releases. Premium adds a larger library and select day-one games. PC Game Pass is PC-only and includes day-one releases and EA Play. Ultimate is the full tier: the biggest library, day-one releases on launch day, cloud gaming, EA Play and both console and PC. Day-one releases and EA Play are only on Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
Are new Call of Duty games on Game Pass at launch?
No longer on day one. From 2026, new Call of Duty titles arrive on Game Pass roughly a year after release; older Call of Duty games are being added to the back catalogue instead.
Is Game Pass worth it?
If you play more than one or two games a month it usually is. The tracked Game Pass catalogue would cost about $23,125 to buy outright, far more than a yearly subscription.
